2023 Gellerasen Season 2 (Ring Djursland)

17.08.2025

Hi everyone. Unfortunately, you read the title right. This was exactly like what happened in Gellerasen in 2023. This report will give a detailed Practice-to-Race 3 report and Driver of the Weekend! Without further ado, lets begin at Ring Djursland!

Practice

Practice was just only about learning the track, we only had about 10 minutes to learn the track and that's it, no more sessions to learn about the track which absolutely sucked unfortunately. I only spun one time, going over the crest at the long turn (Turn 3-4), otherwise, the session went very well.

Qualification

Qualifications went extremely well. Despite having no slipstream (Which by the way, was worth like .3 seconds), I managed to qualify P7 which could've been higher if I had a slipstream, regardless, this result was just simply amazing.

Race 1

Race 1 was unfortunately quite disappointing. The start went well, aside from being overtaken by Fredrik Lindholm from lap 1, I managed to keep up with the Top 8 which was extremely tight, however that tightness ended after Gustav Berglund and Albin Gustafsson that their cars are just as compatible Intel with an AMD AM2+ socket, which ended up with Albin dropping extremely far back on the grid, and it only gets better and then worse. After following Fredrik for what felt like a thousand years, Linus Stjernelund oversteered out of the final corner and got stuck in the DEEP SAND. Which turned the fight for P6 (Between me, Fredrik, and Gustav) into a fight for P3 Junior and I'm telling you, it was extremely close. Until I decided to turn the Aquila car into a drifting Toyota Aygo. That's right, I nearly took myself out of the race and unfortunately, I dropped from a potential P4 finisher to a P7 finish. So close to a top 5... and it gets SO MUCH WORSE

Race 2

Well, ever watched Empire Strikes Back? Well Race 2 would be called Gellerasen Strikes Back because we had two race starts. You heard that right, not 1, but 2 race starts. The first race start was a false, and because of how already stressful the situation was, after the red flag came out, I took my foot off the gas which reulted in I got rear ended. This made two drivers retire out of the race and Deven Grabko to pit in for a new tyre since his rim was cracked. For me though, my diffuser was hanging off my car and the exhaust popped of the Catalytic converter, which not only made the engine sound more raw, but also made the car accelerate as fast as a Mitsubishi Mirage. And even worse, I spun in the last corner and dropped myself to P10

Race 3

Ladies and gentlemen, we did it again. After repairing the diffuser and not having enough time to fuel up the car, 5 minutes in the race after fighting with Gustav and Fredrik for so long, I retired because I had no gas. Extremely unfortunate but we couldn't do anything about it. The time between races is too short to make repairs and fill gas (useles mechanic😬). Very sad but this race weekend taught me and my team that now the time has come, to get a Top 5, in Falkenberg. Thank you everyone who supported me and see you in Falkenberg for the final round of the Aquila Formula 1000 championship.

Driver of the Weekend

DOTW Overall: Linus Stjernelund! Despite retiring from Race 1 and 2, he managed to get P3 in the final race! It is exemplary performance and shows that despite the storm that has weathered a-lot of drivers on the grid, he can push through the storm and exit out in the top steps! Amazing job Linus, you are definitely winning the championship!

DOTW Junior: William Eriksson! At the start of the season, he was taking scraps for a 10th position or even lower but now, here in Ring Djursland, now soon able to fight for Top 5, he is on the rise to become a contender for that beautiful 5th position. Even though he had a terrible start in race 3, he didn't let that hinder him and just kept driving as beautifully as he did!
DOTW Rookie: Enzo Cohlin! Rounding off for the final Driver of the Weekend, it is Enzo Cohlin, now consistently fighting inside the Top 10 rather than for it, his driving remains consistent and clean, his fighting with William Isakkson can only mean that Enzo is developing at a rapid rate like most drivers. Beautiful driving Enzo!
